The summer is winding down and many families are looking for ways to prepare your child for the first day of school.

A limited number of grants of up to $10,000 are available. Any public school or school district located in a Georgia county with a population of 35,000 or less is eligible to apply. Applications are due July 30, 2021.

GPB Education announces winners of the 2021 PBS KIDS Writers Contest! The contest is held annually for kids in kindergarten through third grade. 

Fill your summer days with creativity, exploration and fun with GPB Education's newest digital series, Camp GPB! Camp GPB blends day camp and learning into playful fun. With the help of educators from some of our favorite partner organizations, as well as our own GPB "camp counselors," we are leading kids in engaging, hands-on activities. 

After a year of remote learning, this summer offers new possibilities as parents, caregivers and educators take the time to regroup and refresh. PBS will offer fun new resources, content, and activities for families and educators, as well as tools to support the social and emotional growth of young children.

State School Superintendent Richard Woods has announced the 10 finalists for 2022 Georgia Teacher of the Year.

The finalists were chosen from a pool of applicants all previously selected as their school district's Teacher of the Year. The applications were read by a panel of judges that included teachers, past Georgia Teacher of the Year winners, administrators, community leaders and others. The finalists were chosen based on the strength of their essay responses.
