The fast food company said it will now use "no antibiotics important to human medicine" beginning in spring of this year. The company first said it would stop using antibiotics in 2014.
"If the Children’s Hospital of Georgia would like to be a place of wellness and healing, it should provide only affordable, plant-based options that can help people prevent diabetes, reduce high blood pressure and maintain a healthy weight, among other benefits," according to registered dietitians, doctors and nutrition experts with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.
Chick-fil-A is jumping on the plant-based bandwagon. The Atlanta chain said Thursday that it’s testing its first plant-based entrée, a breaded cauliflower sandwich, at restaurants in Denver; Charleston, South Carolina; and the Greensboro, North Carolina, area.
You no doubt took part in, or at least heard about last year's battle between Popeyes and Chick-Fil-A during the so-called "chicken sandwich wars." Well...
