NASA's Orion capsule buzzes the moon in a last step before humans revisit lunar orbit

The close approach of 81 miles occurred as the crew capsule and its three wired-up dummies were on the far side of the moon. Astronauts will take Orion for a ride around the moon as early as 2024.

NASA's Artemis 1 moon rocket reaches the launch pad

NASA's Artemis 1 rocket, the Space Launch System, reached the Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39B on Friday. The successor to the Apollo program could one day send humans back to the moon.

NASA's 8-Minute Rocket Test Shuts Down After 67 Seconds

The test was for NASA's Space Launch System, a successor to the retired Space Shuttle program. It takes eight minutes to generate the power needed to get to space, and ultimately to the moon.
