Kia Motors' U.S. manufacturing plant in West Point, Ga., opened in 2006 and employs 14,000 people. In 2022, Hyundai, Kia's parent company, is in talks to open a second plant in Georgia to construct electric vehicles.

Kia Motors has just been announced as a 2014 Brand Image Award winner for the "Best Value Brand" by Kelley Blue Book. Kia received the award for their stylish and fuel-efficient vehicles along with their affordability and value to new-car buying customers (PRNewswire.com).
