Snowjammed, Injured Dog Gets Happy Ending

A happy ending for Mutt Muffin, the injured snowjammed dog. The little pooch left for dead on a highway has made a full recovery.

His rescue and recovery are a remarkable story of the power of the kindness of strangers during Georgia's winter storms.

Lori Huster found the stray "goldendoodle" lying on the side of Stone Mountain Freeway on January 26. He had multiple injuries including a broken back and hind legs.

After taking the dog to the the Village Vets in Decatur, she was able to raise money for his surgery on Facebook and Gofundme.com with the help of Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.

Lori had to take Mutt Muffin to Georgia Veterinary Specialists in Sandy Springs for the procedure but the timing was terrible. She and a friend headed out there during the winter storm dubbed “snowjam” that left motorists stranded.

After being stuck in a car on 285 for roughly eight hours, they managed to get off at the Dunwoody exit, but then ran out of gas!

A nice stranger lent them a gas can; they obtained gas and were able to get going once more. However they could only get within half a mile of the clinic because the roads were impassable.

They called the clinic and clinic services representative Jory Stewart responded by walking the half mile in the snow up a steep road to pick up the dog and carry him back to the clinic.
