Congratulations to the Buford Wolves gymnastics team, this year’s GHSA state champions!

Coach Amanda Allen began the program just last year. Incredibly, the Wolves win it all in only their second season of competition.

The team roster includes:

Brei Butts (Senior)
Kryslyn Moore (Senior)
Caroline Davis (Junior)
Carolina Goyco (Junior)
Logan Nugent (Sophomore)
Berkley Berrett (Freshman)
Claudia Goyco (Freshman)
Lyndzi Jones ( Freshman)

The Wolves were undefeated this season. At the state meet, Logan Nugent placed third in the all around competition with a first in the floor exercise and a second in the vault.

Coach Allen says her team really enjoys competing for their school and wearing the green and gold for the sport they love.

The athletes on her team have been competing for years at the club level. In fact, two members of her team, sisters Carolina and Claudia Goyco, were unable to compete in the GHSA Championships because they were competing in a prestigious club event.

The Wolves posted a total of 110.225 to finish ahead of Carrollton, Lambert, Forsyth Central, and Milton.

Buford High School is the home of many state championships in both boys and girls sports and the gymnastics title is the most recent.

"The community has rallied around us and the more we do, the more we win, the more the community gets to know us, the enthusiasm will grow even bigger as we move forward," said coach Allen.

Moving forward should be a lot of fun for this team. There are just two seniors on this year’s squad, so the Wolves look to be a top contender for next year’s title as well. Congratulations to Coach Amanda Allen and her girls gymnastics team, this year's GHSA state champions!
