Gain Four PLUs with This Summer Workshop on the Holocaust
Primary Content
The Breman Museum is offering an opportunity to gain four PLUs through a summer workshop on the holocaust.
The Birnbaum Summer Institute for Teaching the Holocaust is a five day workshop that prepares educators to teach the Holocaust across multiple grade levels, subject areas and curricula.
It takes place Monday, June 16 to June 20, 2014 at the museum and if you qualify you can attend for free thanks to the generosity of the Bernard Birnbaum family. Applicants must pay a $25 application fee. You apply for it here.
The course includes:
- Unforgettable eyewitness accounts by Holocaust survivors
- Lectures by a range of master teachers and college professors
- A guided tour of The Breman’s signature gallery, Absence of Humanity: The Holocaust Years, 1933–1945
- Teacher-to-teacher sharing and planning of classroom applications
Special attention is given to developing age-appropriate teaching strategies and to addressing Georgia Performance and Core Curriculum Standards.
