What does our funny Englishman in New York, John Oliver think of “Downton Abbey”? He doesn’t, actually. The "Last Week Tonight" host tells "PBS Newshour" chief arts and culture correspondent Jeffrey Brown that he doesn’t watch the Masterpiece show.

Apparently the series is too close to home.

Quips Oliver, “Those kind of shows were the bane of my childhood because period dramas about uptight British people destroyed by the class system, struggling to say the things they feel were the shows that were on nonstop when I was a kid when I wanted to watch cartoons.”
