Shayla develops content and resources for Georgia’s teachers and students in her role as education curriculum specialist at GPB. Born and raised in Georgia, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Spelman College where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Secondary Education. After completing her undergraduate studies, Shayla attended the University of Georgia School of Law and passed the Georgia Bar. Although she enjoyed the area of law, she knew that she wanted to pursue a career in education and became a teacher for Fulton County Schools where she taught American Government, World Geography, and International Affairs.
