The Red Ribbon Campaign is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation, reaching millions of young people each year. This year, Red Ribbon Week is October 28th - November 1st, and the campaign's mission is to present a unified and visible commitment to a drug-free America. Each year is also represented by a unique theme, and this year’s theme reminds us, “Life Is A Movie: Film Drug-Free.” In honor of the cinematic theme, here are some free resources to help you and your students share your heroic tales about living drug-free lives.

1. Enjoy an Episode of Classroom Conversations

Listen to a conversation with alternative education enthusiast, Principal Drew Hayes about a serious problem in our schools - underage vaping. This epidemic is a common and insidious one, that can be avoided with vigilance and understanding as outlined in the podcast episode.

2. Take a Pledge to Be Drug-Free

Watch the PSA we've created with the Georgia Department of Education, then take the pledge to be a part of creating a drug-free America. You can sign the pledge for parents and teachers to commit to setting a positive example for children, creating rules about not using drugs, and monitoring children’s behavior. As students, you can also sign the pledge to grow up safe, healthy, and drug-free.

After submitting, ask your friends, family, colleagues, and school contacts to vote for your photo on the Red Ribbon Week website between November 2nd and 16th, 2024.

4. Share Your Story with a Video

You can submit a brief catchy slogan and design to be featured on banners, marquees, and social media posts nationwide to redribbon@nfp.org by December 6, 2024 for consideration. Artwork is not required, but is appreciated, and while the red ribbon should be prominently featured in the design, don’t be afraid to use other colors!
