You’ve probably heard the emphasis that leaders in education and politics are placing on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. But how will it impact students? What can families do today to prepare their child(ren) for a future in STEM? To coincide with the Atlanta Science Festival, Dr. Karen Hypolite of the Kennesaw State University Chemistry Department along with other educators, city officials, and industry leaders will engage in a discussion on how families can get kids ready for the changing direction of the STEM fields. The event will take place on Saturday, March 19 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. in the old Pier One storefront at Atlantic Station, next to Dillard's. Click here to register.

The Atlanta Science Festival is an annual public celebration of local science and technology. From March 19-26, 2016, curious people of all ages will explore the science and technology in our region and see how science is connected to all parts of our lives in 100 engaging events, including hands-on activities, facility tours, presentations, and performances throughout the metro Atlanta region. The Festival culminates in the free, family-friendly EXPLORATION EXPO - an interactive day of demos, hands-on activities, and stage shows at Centennial Olympic Park.
