Kell High School first opened its doors in August 2002 and has had a substantial amount of new student growth since then. Aside from football, Kell offers numerous sports and award winning organizations that students can join. Last year, the Kell Computer Programming team won 3rd place during the high school division in a computer programming competition hosted at GA Tech. Great job guys, next year let’s go for GOLD!! Hey!! Did you know… Kell High School was named after one of Cobb County School District’s highly respected athletic directors and coaches, Carlton “Corky” Kell. Besides having a school named after him, every year there is a pre-season football show down at the Georgia Dome respectively named the “Corky Kell Classic”, where Gwinnett County schools face-off against Cobb County schools to determine who will lead the season off as the champs! And Did You also Know that… Carlton J Kell’s wife Carole assisted with the selection of Kell High School’s mascot; The Longhorns.
Woodstock High School located in Cherokee County, officially opened its doors in fall of 1996. The Mighty Wolverines consist of over 2500 students and 154 teachers. Students have many opportunities to better themselves with an amazing student activities program; where they can be a part of the Wolverines award winning cheerleading squad. If students are not interested in cheerleading, they have the opportunity to choose between baseball, cross country, football, and golf. And for the least athletic types, there is the Academic Clubs, Fine Arts Clubs, SGA, Band, and Drama. Hey!! Did You Know… that the Marching Wolverine Band took home TOP honors by coming in first place during the New Years Eve Chick-Fil-A Parade , scoring 95 out of 100. Amazing Job Marching Band! Special congratulations to the Wolverines’ Girls Varsity Volleyball team for qualifying for the State Tournament this year! Good Luck Ladies! Lets Bring home the GOLD! Did You also know that the State of Georgia’s Governor’s office of student achievement awarded Woodstock High School, the Platinum award in 2008 and 2009.
