Buford returned a blocked punt for a touchdown, then scored on 40- and 64-yard touchdown passes from Stanford signee Ashton Daniels on the way to building a 42-7 rout of Dacula. It was the 18th region title in 21 years for Buford on the way to the Wolves 13th state championship in 20 years. Dacula would later advance to the state quarterfinals.
