Each year National Educator Association (NEA) sponsors Read Across America Day in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday. This year’s Read Across America Day is tomorrow, March 1.

All around the country libraries, schools, and book shops will be hosting special events to encourage a life-long love of reading in our children. Kids will be making Cat in the Hat hats, coloring in red fish and blue fish, and carrying around wockets in their pockets, adding to the day’s celebration.

You can join the fun on social media, too, by following the Read Across America Facebook page. Post photos of your event here, too, to share with them the impact and reach this incredibly initiative is having in your area.

**SPOILER ALERT**
If your child attends Minor Elementary School in Gwinnett County, be aware that the following reveals a surprise for their celebration tomorrow.

One Georgia school is receiving a special gift from Rusty Holcombe of Holcombe Financial. Minor Elementary School in Gwinnett County is receiving a gift of Kindles donated by the firm as the school’s “Digital Den” opens in the school library for the first time. We’ll be there to record the event and will report back to you tomorrow.

What special events are going on in your school? Are your students dressing up as their favorite Seussian character?
