What are your students doing this summer? (Yes I realize we’re still in the throes of winter, but now is the time to make those summer plans.) What if your students could spend some summer days playing disease detectives tracking down the source of an outbreak or the culprit behind salmonella poisoning? The good news is that they can thanks to the CDC.

In its second year, CDC Junior Disease Detective Camp is an educational program geared toward middle school students. Its purpose is to fill the gap in informal public health education for those students. It’s open to upcoming seventh and eighth graders and takes place at the CDC headquarters in Atlanta, Ga.

The camps are offered in two 3 day sessions:
Session 1: Monday, June 10 – Wednesday, June 12
Session 2: Monday, July 15 – Wednesday, July 17
