Atlanta Developer Ben Carter, who built the Mall of Georgia, is moving forward with a large mall project near Savannah

The Savannah Economic Development Authority has given a green light on tax breaks for a large shopping mall planned for Pooler, GA just outside of Savannah.

The upscale shopping venue will receive property tax abatements estimated to be worth $131,000 annually. The project, once opened, is expected to creates between $5 million and $6 million in annual sales tax revenue.

Atlanta developer Ben Carter says his mall should be open in 2015.

The project will create 1,200 construction jobs and 1,500 permanent jobs.
