Brookhaven Hiring 50 Officers
Primary Content
Georgia’s newest city, Brookhaven, is hiring 50 law enforcement officers to create the Brookhaven Police Department.
Newly hired officers will earn between $38,500 and $55,000 per year with a first year housing allowance of $400 per month.
“Our goal is to have the best officers to serve and protect Brookhaven,” Police Chief Gary Yandura said. “Our focus will be on hiring officers who understand community policing, have excellent records of service, education and attitude.”
Currently, Dekalb County patrols the city of Brookhaven, which costs taxpayers $500,000 per month. The new City of Brookhaven Police Department should be operational by the summer.
