Atlanta-Based Fast Food Looking to Expand in Taiwan
Primary Content
A recent trade mission sponsored by the Georgia Department of Economic Development featured Atlanta-based Focus Brands and Wing Zone.
Focus Brands incudes well-known restaurant entities such as Aunt Annies Pretzels, Moe’s, Carvel, Cinnabon, and Schlotzky’s.
The fast food chains are seeking a foothold in the growing market of Taiwan with a growing population of 23 million.
According to a report at GlobalAtlanta.com, the state economic development efforts are helping private sector companies find partners around the globe.
"For us, it's a really convenient and cost effective away to get face to face with potential investors," said Scott Chorna, director of international new business development Focus Brands. "Franchising takes a long time. They're not just buying products to sell. They're buying a business model to operate for a long, long time," he said, noting that ideal partners have both passion for the brand and knowhow to operate the concept sustainably in the local market.
