The Gulfstream G650 Sets Three New Speed Records

Savannah-based Gulfstream has set a series of new speed records, including just over 7 hours from Savannah to Paris, France.

The records were established in the new Gulfstream G650.

A crew of three along with five passengers broke a 25-year old record, also held by a Gulfstream jet, by making the Savannah-Paris flight in 7 hours and 12 minutes. The previous record was 8 hours and 16 minutes.

According to Gulfstream, “This record demonstrates the G650’s tremendous speed and range,” said Scott Neal, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Gulfstream. “It also speaks to the capabilities of the GIV, which handily held that record for a quarter of a century, evidence that the aircraft was ahead of its time in terms of technology, innovation, speed and range.”

The G650 also recently set flight speed records for trips between Nice, France to São Paulo, Brazil and Las Vegas to Madrid, Spain.
