The Breakdown:
1. Biden visits Ebenezer Baptist Church.
- Martin Luther King Jr. pastored at Ebenezer eight years before his assassination.
- Biden would be the first sitting president to deliver the sermon on Sunday morning.
- His speech comes one year after pushing for increased voting rights legislation.
- Other top Georgia politicians include Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, White House Correspondent and Former Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, and Sen. Jon Ossoff.
2. Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested at least 29 times protesting segregation, he was also arrested in Georgia.
- King was among 79 people arrested Oct. 19, 1960 during mass picketing and sit-in demonstrations protesting against segregated eating places at Atlanta department and variety stores.
- He was sentenced to four months in jail, but after intervention by then presidential candidate John Kennedy and his brother Robert Kennedy, he was released.
- King was also arrested in Albany, Georgia for obstructing the sidewalk and parading without a permit.
3. Framing Dr. King's famous "I Have A Dream" speech, and funeral.
- Gospel singer Mahalia Jackson urged King to add the "I Have A Dream" line.
- King was assassinated on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, TN.
