The Milledgeville Main Street Program has helped attract 25 new businesses to the downtown area.

The Milledgeville Main Street Program was named the 2013 Downtown Development Program of the Year at the Georgia Downtown Awards of Excellence Event and Conference.

The City of Milledgeville and the Milledgeville Main Street Program has brought 82 new jobs, 25 new businesses and 18 building rehabs to the their community.

Billy Peppers, Special Assistant at the Department of Community Affairs, stated in a recent press release, “Milledgeville Main Street has been a leader in statewide downtown development during the past two years and represents a place for unique ideas to create opportunities for economic growth and prosperity while not forgetting its historic roots.”
