THE ARC Mobile Career Lab is in High Demand

It started in 2007 for the purpose of helping workers impacted by the closure of military bases like Fort Gillem in Forest Park. Today, the Atlanta Regional Mobile Career Resource Lab has become a popular source for job assistance across the metro area.

The mobile job center is operated by the Atlanta Regional Commission. It is designed to offer help with building successful resumes, searching for jobs, along with locating job opportunities and job fairs.

A recent story at NeighborNewspapers.com highlighted the success of the mobile career lab in Clayton and Henry counties.

Audrey LeGrand, is a career coach for the lab and believes many people searching for work lack basic job-hunting skills. “I speak with many people who are looking for a career and I tell them that if they’re not having any luck, it’s either their resume or interview skills that are lacking, so we work with and help them in those areas,” she said. “One young woman told me she got four interviews lined up the day after posting her new and improved resume to the web,” she said.

The mobile career lab is scheduled for 13 stops during the month of September. For a look at the entire schedule, click HERE
