Slight Spoiler Alert!: This is the Downton episode you’ll have a hard time watching. Something terrible happens to a much beloved character. The photo for this blog gives the hint as to whom. But that’s all I’ll reveal. I won’t say what happened as I don’t want to spoil it for you. I will let other blogs and news articles do that.

But chatroom participant @Darcy summed up our feelings about episode 2 with this one comment:

“I feel a bit sad... Didn't really want that..."

Other things happen in this episode that may lift your spirits up. Lady Mary actually cracks a smile! Could it be Lord Anthony Gillingham’s doing? And Mr. Moseley gets a temp job.
