The Atlanta Falcons are being praised for hosting one of the most successful High School Girls Flag Football Showcases in the country. The third-annual event, presented by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and was held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in May. Current and formerFalcons players, and nearly 20 Georgia high school girls flag football coaches were in attendance.
The high school football coaching carousel continues to spin in Georgia. There have been almost 100 coaching changes so far and a handful of vacancies still waiting to be filled. Each year the coaching turnover is roughly 20-percent, but this year could be higher than average due to some big job openings.
Girls flag football is taking South Georgia by storm this fall. It all started with a pilot program for 19 schools in 2019, and now there will be more than 250 girls flag football programs in action this season across the entire state.
