Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Society for Science announced that Asmi Kumar, 18, of Milton, Georgia, won a $5,000 scholarship and received the Dudley R. U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona announced the 58th class of U.S. Presidential Scholars, recognizing 161 high school seniors (including three from Georgia) for their accomplishments in academics, the arts, and career and technical education fields.
Michael Kobito, an AP Music Theory teacher and high school band director at Woodland High School in the Bartow County School System, is the 2023 Georgia Teacher of the Year. State School Superintendent Richard Woods announced the selection of Kobito at a banquet held in LaGrange to celebrate all district Teachers of the Year.
