Access To Discovery Education Through Georgia Public Broadcasting Ends August 31, 2020
Primary Content
Effective August 31, 2020, schools using Discovery Education content under the Georgia Public Broadcasting contract will no longer have rights to continue using these assets. Discovery Education is still available to local school systems across the state of Georgia on an individual contract basis. Any school system wishing to explore that option should contact Discovery Education directly.
All Georgia school systems will continue to have access through GPB to a robust array of educational tools through PBS LearningMedia. The GPB Education team has assembled a helpful crosswalk document to align most often accessed resources from Discovery Education with available similar resources through PBS LearningMedia. You can access this resource guide here. Additionally, as teachers, students, and families deal with school closures, PBS LearningMedia has curated a special collection of resources organized by grade and subject area.
PBS LearningMedia features more than 100,000 FREE high-quality classroom and professional development resources from GPB public media partners across the country. Other contributors include NASA, the National Archives, and the Library of Congress.
Through its multi-faceted education program, GPB has cemented its position as a leader in digital education and high-quality educational tools and resources aligned to Georgia Standards. GPB Education will continue to provide the above-mentioned resources through PBS LearningMedia as well as locally produced initiatives ranging from Georgia History to in-depth instructional resources and cutting-edge live and virtual explorations for students of all ages at gpb.org/education.
